About

BelleAmour was opened on August 12, 2008 and was previously a subdomain called Absolute Serenity. So if some of my graphics are tagged with Absolute Serenity, that would be the reason. I am hosted on Holdfire.net and my domain was purchased from GoDaddy.com.

I started learning about HTML and web design through NeoPets when I was about 12 years old, where I became interested in the guild layouts and how they were made. I took a look at the codes, played around with them a little and learned on my own. I’ve had many websites, all subdomains. BelleAmour is the only domain I’ve ever owned, and it is the only website I have maintained for more than 6 months. I lose interest in projects quickly, which is why I will often go a month or two without blogging sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, my life is plenty entertaining, but every now and then I just get so caught up in my offline life that I only spend 10 minutes online a day, on Facebook and checking emails.

BelleAmour is powered by WordPress. I use cPanel, Notepad and Firefox to maintain the website.

The Name

BelleAmour is French for Beautiful Love. I know, I know. In French, the adjective is supposed to follow the noun, but I didn’t like the way AmourBelle sounded. Basically, the name stemmed from my love for the name Bella. Yes, I am a Twilight fan and before you ask, I liked the name Bella way before I ever read Twilight. Bella is Italian for “beautiful” and I purchased the domain around the time Twilight had just become really popular, so I knew everyone would assume I used Bella because of Twilight. So I chose to use the French word for “beautiful” and I think French suits me a little better than Italian because I’m part French.

So why did I choose “beautiful love” for the name of the website? Four months before I purchased the domain, my first long-term boyfriend broke my heart. I wanted something that would encourage me to believe that he’s not the only guy out there that I’m ever going to fall in love with, and there are so many more amazing (or not-so-amazing) guys that I’m going to meet in my lifetime. I wanted a name that would keep me hopeful for another beautiful love.
